About RLO Training

Learn About Us and Our Team

RLO Training was founded in 1985 in response to an immediate need for highly effective, industry-specific, and top quality training for automotive service professionals. RLO Training began offering workshops in 1988, and in 1991 Bottom-Line Impact Groups (BLIG) was created. BLIG provides auto repair shop owners with a continuous improvement process and a support network.

In 2004, RLO Training began instructor-led live automotive training online. This is not a recorded video: this is a live auto consultant speaking to multiple students in different locations. Over a decade of experience in this field of information delivery allows our expert automotive instructors to provide the same high-quality and in-depth auto repair shop training, be it online or in person.

We deliver quality training and the Bottom-Line Impact Groups because we see lives being changed.

The shop owner, who hasn’t taken a real vacation in years, now gets to spend two weeks with his wife and kids – and actually enjoy it!

The owner who knows he needs changes in his business, but doesn’t know where to begin, commits to an Action Plan formulated with his supporting members of his Group.

The Service Advisor who is nice to the customers but needs supervision becomes an Advisor who is confident and professional, and is strategically in charge of the conversations with customers.

We are here to provide training and peer support in order to change lives and impact the future of the automotive industry.

Tony Zanders

Facilitator

Background: Tony's career began in the late 80's as an apprentice/general clean-up kid at a shop in Boise, ID. In a few short years, Tony realized that he loved fixing cars and had the "knack" to make things work. In 1999, Tony and his wife Becca started their own business, and began applying the many lessons they had learned about business, management, marketing, and administration.

Tony has been involved in much more than his business alone. Over the years, he has participated in multiple community leadership roles, and has served on national boards including the NAPA AutoCare Advisory Council. In 2007, Tony was selected as the first Chairman of the newly formed Car Care Professionals Network (CCPN), and continued in that role until 2009.

RLO Training: Tony has been a member of the Bottom-Line Impact Groups since 2012, and in 2020, Tony joined the team at RLO to become a facilitator. Tony has always held a deep passion to change the way people view our industry, by improving the way we operate and adhere to the highest levels of quality and integrity. He hopes to help businesses across the nation reach their potential by sharing his knowledge and experience to overcome obstacles and grow personally and professionally.

Hobbies/Interests: Spending time with family, traveling, camping and outdoors, helping others by fixing whatever he can.

What or who inspires you: "I am inspired by my parents. Dad served his family over the years by doing whatever was necessary to provide, and by being a very present part of all of our lives. Mom demonstrated such steadfast dedication and love that we seldom knew what sacrifices they had made to give us a good life. I now see our children recognize my effort to serve them, and realize we learned from the best."

Hidden talents: Tony freely refers to his knack of fixing things as a "proximity repair." Whenever he gets around a problem, it seems to just fix itself.

Favorite food: Anything that his wife makes...except fish.
