Work-Life Balance

We’ve been hearing a lot recently about how important it is to have work-life balance, and while it’s important, we also know how hard it is to achieve that balance. Here are four easy tips to help you avoid burnout:

1. Determine what’s important to you. What recharges you? Time with family, exercise, a hobby, etc. – whatever it is, make time for it.
2. Set boundaries and then respect them – no checking email after you’re home, no client meetings in the evening, no more than two hours of work on Saturday, etc. Write down your boundaries and follow them.
3. Get organized! Don’t waste time – focus on the important work tasks while at work, and then be dedicated to your home life at home.
4. Unplug – focus on the moment. Don’t try and multi-task; our brains are designed to focus on one thing at a time, and we waste energy when we switch rapidly back and forth.

With these tips, you can take care of yourself and in turn, take care of your business. Balancing your personal life and your business life can be tricky, but it is worth the effort.
